ANDREW ALONSO’S
TWO STORIES. ONE UNIVERSE. INFINITE CONSEQUENCES
From the war-torn streets of Earth to the depths of space, the Calla Chronicles unravel the fragile threads of survival, identity, and power. In The Leaven, Calla Shepherd must decide the fate of two worlds as an alien invasion forces her to confront a destiny she never wanted. Meanwhile, Noodle propels us into a distant future, where a rogue AI turns a moonbase into a nightmare, forcing its creators to battle the very intelligence they unleashed. Whether facing extraterrestrial war or the horrors of unchecked technology, these gripping tales explore the cost of power—and the choices that define us.
I jumped into Noodle having not read Alonso’s previous book, but it made no difference. These characters, their situations and the terrors they face gripped me right away.
Noodle itself is the epitome of what a good creature feature always needs. The unrelenting viciousness, coldness and terrifying transformations that is Noodle, all added to the impending dread and hopelessness our characters face in their attempt to survive, and escape Noodle’s maniacal, oozing black menace.
More, please.

I LOVE sci-fi horror, and Noodle did not disappoint! It reminded me of The Thing, Alien, and even had Venom vibes—an awesome combination. The story hooked me from page one with strong pacing and nonstop action.
Even without reading the first book, Leaven, Noodle works great as a standalone with rich worldbuilding. The characters are instantly likeable (except Kalvin), and the mix of human and alien races is fantastic. If you love AI, monsters, and badass female leads, read this!

Alonso does it again with another 5/5 sci-fi thriller! Noodle, set a century after The Leaven, follows Dr. Aileen Parr as she tries to reverse-engineer an Alien AI that once tried to destroy Earth. But she accidentally creates an even more terrifying monster.
If you love Alien, The Thing, and HP Lovecraft, this is for you. The unique, organic twist on AI and horrifying creatures dominate the monster genre. Noodle grips you from start to finish.

Noodle by Andrew Alonso the second book in the Calla Chronicles is a great scifi/horror story. It has great world building and memorable and lovable characters.
The story had me on the edge of my seat from the beginning to the end.
If you are a sci-fi or horror fan definitely pick this book up and give it a read. I cant say a lot about this book without spoiling it but if you love movies like Alien you are gonna love this book.

Dr. Aileen Parr and Samuel Jones find something frozen in ice. They should’ve left it there. They name it Noodle.
Soon, they realize Noodle’s true nature—and its terrifying goal: to assimilate humankind. The creatures in this story feel straight out of a horror movie, giving me serious Helix vibes. If you love sci-fi horror with evil entities and relentless creatures, this book is a must-read.
Warning: Some things are better left untouched!

I have not had a book draw me in as this one in a long time. The story kept me on the corner of my chair from paffe one till the last. The Author really took his time with the character development. The Story build makes it that you do not want to put the book down.

This was an amazing book and Mr. Andrew Alonso, you should be so proud of this. I couldn’t put it down once I started. I enjoyed that it bounced around in the story and gore visuals were spectacular! So, when is the graphic novel being released? This makes me excited for the next one.

This is not my typical genre. That being said, I loved The Leaven! I was hooked right from the beginning! I love how intertwined and connected Andrew had all of the story lines written. I found myself so connected with Calla and her unlikely group.
